Omya 1st Grade (6-7 yr) achievements

Omya is growing up as a wonderful loving person. She is very clear on what she wants and what she does not like. We wish if she ate food well, she continues to be a very picky eater.

Omya made good friends in school and played a lot of Teather ball :-). She actually got good at it by end of school year.

Omya also enjoyed basketball and attended warriors camp in summer along with brother Vyom. Vyom and Omya played a lot of basketball together.

Vyom also continued to play a critical mentor role for Omya in Chess. He is still a role model for Omya.

Achievements:

• Omya became the official US player to represent USA for U8 in Pan America and World Cadet Chess
• Omya won the Hanley chess in Jan (just in time) to cross 1300 that helped her to be the 7yr old to become official player
• Omya gymnastics skills continue to improve and she moved up a section
• Omya won the GOLD for USA, coming 1st in Pan America in U8Girls section and earned the WCM Title

Omya's 1st Chess Tournament Experience

Omya played her 1st Chess Tournament on Sept 5th and she did really good. She got 3/5 points and got the 4th place trophy. She also helped Harker School to come 1st in the team section for Chess.

It was delight to watch how she would finish the game in < 5mins in most cases :-).

Omya has been doing well in Chess, learning Piano and enjoying her Gymnastics class.

Omya to start KDG

Wow, can't believe Omya will start KDG this fall (Aug 26th).  Omya had a great summer. She picked up Chess this summer playing with us and Vyom. She loves spending her spare time in solving Chess puzzles.

Omya loves her time with Activity books as well. She has picked up Addition/Subtraction and even Multiplication. Omya is excited to be part of Harker Lower school this year. She is happy because now she would be going to "Bhaiya School"

Omya started Gymnastics classes this summer. She has been liking it and can't stop talking about it. She also can do around 10 push-ups as she sees Bhaiya doing it.

She is also happy to spend her summer time with grandparents.

It's been a pleasure seeing her become a big girl.

Surprise B'day Party to Patrika and Omya enjoying school

Omya and Vyom celebrated Patrika’s b’day on Sept 2nd, 2014. We were able to surprise her. In the morning, Vyom and Omya went to school and we had no plans as such for Mom’s Bday.

After Patrika went to work around 9am, I thought it would be a good idea to do a surprise party since here Mom Dad were also with us. I immediately texted Nandu, Komu, Savira, Jigar, Arthi, Montu to see if they can come to our place around 5:30pm. They all accepted the invitation and some of them showed up at 5:20pm.  Mummy talked to Vartika didi and she was able to come.

In the afternoon, we prepared Pav Bhaji and marinated the Paneer Tikka for Pizza. We also prepared cake and Rabri to go with it. When Patrika came at 5:30pm to home. Vyom played Happy B’day song in Violin. She was completely surprised. It was a beautiful fun filled evening with good food and wonderful folks around.

Omya has been enjoying school and was introduced to Math book in school. She is very excited about it and has been doing it very well.. In the past couple of days, she has picked up a number of words “you, are, at, the, them, in, to, hat/cat.., two, on, as, so etc.” Tanu Didi taught her tables of 0, which she is very proud off. She has also learned table of 1. Now we are making her learn tables of 2, which she seems to be picking up quite well. 

Vyom Omya after coming from school love to spend sometime with Noodles, and Noodles also looks forward to playing with them. 

Today, Sept 5th, Vyom had back to school BBQ party in the evening at 5pm. All 4 of us went to enjoy some good time. Omya liked playing on the slides. Vyom played with some of his friends. We had to leave early as I had to teach class from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

Omya our sweet daughter is growing fast...

Omya was born on Feb 9th, 2010. She made our family complete. She has a unique personality. She is now almost 4.5 yrs. She started Harker Preschool last year in the 3yr old class. Her teachers are Ms. Harshita, Ms. Amanda and Ms. Megan. Her cottage is Acorn cottage. Prior to Harker she went to CCLC Sunnyvale.

Omya had a great time this past summer with grandparents. She also improved her swimming skills this summer by taking regular classes in Saratoga Star Aquatics. She can now swim around 12feet without assistance.

Omya loves Vyom very much, she just wants to follow and learn what Vyom does. She also started playing Piano this summer with same teacher Ms. Nichole.

Omya at this small age has a lot of interest in reading books and learning math skills. She has learned addition and subtraction very well.

If one question is asked, what does Omya likes the most? We don't have to think, she loves choosing her dresses and eating Chocolates :-)

Vyom and Omya also had a good time with family members. Nandu Chacha moved back to Bay Area from east coast this August.
